NUC grants full accreditation to 27 UI undergraduate programmes

TWENTY-SEVEN undergraduate programmes across seven faculties in the University of Ibadan (UI), Ibadan, Oyo State, have been granted full accreditation by the National Universities Commission (NUC) has to
The approval followed an accreditation process which was organised by the varsity’s regulatory body in October/November 2021 at UI.
It was contained yesterday in a letter from the Office of the Executive Secretary of the NUC, Prof Abubakar Rasheed to the Vice Chancellor, Prof Kayode Adebowale.
The approval has cleared given the university the go ahead to admit students and award degrees in the programmes for the next five years.
The fully-accredited courses include: German, Igbo, Linguistics, Music, Philosophy and Theatre Arts from the Faculty of Arts.
From the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences are: Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Physiology, Physiotherapy, and Environmental Health Science.
Computer Science and Geology were fully accredited in the Faculty of Science while Architecture was fully accredited in the Faculty of Environmental Design and Management.
In the Faculty of Technology, Civil Engineering, Food Technology, Industrial and Production Engineering as well as Wood Products Engineering were fully accredited.
Veterinary Medicine was also fully accredited in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
In the Faculty of Education, Early Childhood Education, Arabic Education, Economics Education, Islamic Studies; Health Education and Human Kinetics were accredited.
