COUNCIL OF EPIE- ATISSA CDC CHAIRMEN PAYS COURTESY CALL ON THE COMMISSIONER FOR EDUCATION.

****SEEKS IMPROVEMENT ON THE EDUCATION SECTOR OF THEIR CLAN.

TRACKING____The Council of Epie Atissa Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairmen has on Friday 23rd of October 2020 paid a courtesy call on the Honourable Commissioner for Education Bayelsa State, Hon. Gentle Emelah in his office at the Education House, Ovom, Yenagoa.

Mr manager Albert , Chairman of the Council who spoke for the team said they came to Congratulate the Honourable Commissioner on his appointment and to equally thank the miracle Governor, Sen. Douye Diri for finding him worthy to be at the helm of affairs of the Ministry of Education of the state.

Speaking further, he said, “as Epie- Atissa people who are brothers to Zarama-Epie we thought it necessary as your own people to come and identify with you.

“We also want to appeal that you look into Epie Atissa clan when delivering the dividends of democracy, as the state capital, schools in our clan should wear a befiting look and also in time of awards of scholarships, consideration should be given to our youths because it is due to lack of enlightenment that our youths have taken to social vices such as cultism and criminality, we therefore appeal for your support, to see that Education wise, we are carried along”. He stated.

In a separate speech, CDC Chairman of Yenagoa community, appealed for an upgrade of the historical Bishop Dimieri Grammar School (BDGS) to a model school as well as other schools in the state capital.

In his response, Hon Gentle Emelah who could not hide his joy appreciated them for coming.

He said the visit which was a memorable one for him while recounting his childhood days as a kid who grew up in Opolo and Okutukutu communities and attended the famous BDGS he was indeed excited to have them.

He thanked them once again for coming most especially in the name of Brotherhood.

CDC Chairman from twenty (20) communities where Present at the meeting namely, Ikolo, Okutukutu,Amarata,Etegwe,Famgbe,Edepie,Ekeki,Biogbolo,Akenfa, Bebelebiri 2, Obogoro,Onopa,Yenizue-Epie, Obogoro,Igbogene,Okaka, Yenagoa,Kpansia Among others.
