Adeleke forms four committees to review appointments, assigns members the task of recovering looted assets in Osun
Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has formed four committees, including the Staff Audit/Appointments/Promotion Review Committee, chaired by Dr Muyiwa Oladimeji, to investigate appointments made after July 17, as well as track all looted state assets.
The other committees are the State Assets Inventory and Recovery Committee, chaired by B. T. Salem, the Contracts/MoU/Agreements Review Committee, chaired by Mr Niyi Owolade, and the Chieftaincy Affairs Review Committee, according to Track News.
Malam Olawale Rasheed, the governor’s spokesperson, issued a statement on the new development on Wednesday.
Adeleke, who was represented at the committees’ inauguration in Osogbo, the state capital, by his Deputy, Kola Adewusi, lamented the widespread “pillaging.”
As a result, the panels should look into the situation.
He also directed that all appointments made by the previous administration after July 17 be reviewed.
“You must right the wrongs and carry out your responsibilities as soon as possible.”
“We assure the people that we will not waver in our determination to put an end to all illegalities committed after July 17.”
“Those who have problems to explain are those who were hired after July 17,” he explained.
The governor assured that the state payroll prior to July 17 was unaffected, and that the state government had not fired any Osun payroll employees.
