After being accused of stealing, 34-year-old man hangs himself.
Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports
In Adamawa State, a man named Iliya Adamu allegedly hanged himself after being accused of stealing N40,000 on multiple occasions.
Adamu, 34, committed suicide after being accused of stealing N40,000 by his own brother.
The Track News learned Tuesday that Adamu’s demise began about eight months ago, when the brother, whose name could not be obtained at the time of publication, first raised the alarm about losing money and blaming it on Adamu.
In April of this year, Adamu, a resident of Kwanan Waya in Yola South Local Government Area who worked as a bricklayer in Girei in Girei LGA, was accused of stealing the money.
According to reports, he decided to end it all over the weekend after about seven months of helplessly denying his brother’s theft charge.
According to a source, Adamu’s body was discovered dangling from a tree branch in the Girei bush, and an insecticide container was discovered nearby.
SP Suleiman Nguroje, the state Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident and said police were looking into it.
