Jonathan Lokpobiri Snr Clear Air on Factional IYC President; Berated Timothy Igbifa and Cohorts.

YENAGOA______The newly elected President of the Ijaw Youths Council (IYC), Jonathan Lokpobiri Snr. , who scored the highest votes of 47 to emerged as President Elect on the 22nd Day of July, 2023 at Gabriel Okara Cultural Centre in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State and Sworn-In Sunday 23rd day of July, 2023 , on Live Interview on Arise TV has described himself as “Apple” that doesn’t advertise Itself, but can only be unveiled and as such he has been unveiled by Council (IYC) as National President as Constitutionally Elected President as Council Tradition demands.

He further cautioned the general public about the young man parading himself as President that the young man needs help because he is an unknown face to IYC.

“Let me remind you, 10 years ago, I won an election to lead Council convincingly, but some Leaders and the then Governor felt I should step aside for another Candidate which for sake of peace, love for Council and posterity I abandoned my victory for the sake of existence of Council.

The young man parading himself as President of Council is unknown face and I believe he’s just seeking attention, and to me he needs help and which I promise if he seeks it justly , my Administration will render it for him because we’re all Ijaw Youths and Ijaw people generally.

I want to let the whole world know that the Former President (Deacon Peter Timothy Igbifa) , who absconded from a National Convention while the process was underway was reported to have stopped at a Fuel Station in Ahoada along East-West road just to get lighting and announced the young man that’s parading himself as President of Council in an unjust arrangement with the so called Eleco Chairman who’s a fugitive.

And mind you the former President, Igbifa has been on the habit of not handing over power in whatever position he had held, even in the Church were he was made a Leader he didn’t handover, he was made Chairman of Eastern Zone IYC he didn’t handover, so not allowing a peaceful transition has been his practice and DNA, but unfortunately for him this won’t see the light of the day because IYC is bigger than him.

Though we learnt the young man he announced wasn’t the one whom he wanted to, but for the fact that the young man had elements of Criminality and had guns around him which they could use to perfect his failed plan of stood to power, he had to announce him.

In all honesty ,we are all embarrassed with some people who feel Council is the only medium to fasten their mechandise act.

Let me shock you today , we were received by the Leadership of Ijaw National Congress (INC) under the watch of Prof. Benjamin Okoba which IYC is it product and we were awesomely unveiled and recognized and they pledged their total support.

It’s on record that all other Aspirants can attest to the fact that we all only met and knew him first time in history when the Bayelsa State Governor invited all Aspirants and the Eleco for a meeting to make his stand known to us all of his neutrality and cautioned us all to be of good Conduct before, during and after the election and willing to work and support whomever emerged as President of Council, because he the Governor is a Product of INC, the Pioneer Secretary of INC, so he understood the need for neutrality of Leaders like him in Council which he never compromised all through.

So I really want to use this medium to express my unreserved gratitude to the Bayelsa State Governor for the support of a peaceful election and transition.

As am talking to you now, the Bayelsa State Governor is anxiously waiting to receive not only me but the entire Executive body which will be unveiled to the whole world.

Just watch if they have what it takes, let them meet the INC and the Governor to unveil them.

I think you the Media has a lot to do by verifying claims of Characters like the Former President Igbifa and the young man parading himself as president, reason being that they are not only embarrassing themselves, but noble Institutions and the public.

Let me also tell you, after that unknown face parading himself as President weeded that embarrassed coup with the former President who is on the habit of absconding and kidnapping himself in order to make money, they’re now calling people around to identify him as President and looking for people to fill in other positions of Executive. I hope you can see how desperate and uncultured some people are!

We have gone through a lot as Ijaw people, so we don’t have to toe the path of guns any longer. So we’re in for peace as Council.
And I can tell you for free, my Leadership will never tolerate any breach of Council peace or Ijaw Nation in any guise.

And let me remind you, what you are seeing can also be termed as part of the Electoral Process, but you must know every human has a limit and there should be a limit to all this hostility nature of these guys.

Because, for example, President Tinubu has been elected and sworn in, I don’t think it is legal for the media to even grant or allow any other group to speak, claiming to be President anymore. I pray we act in a manner in which we shouldn’t be seen otherwise by our neighbors.

So I am calling on the Security Architecture of this country to go after this Characters and the society should also be mindful of this persons who their main business is to format trouble and be calling on Government and relevant authorities to seek unholy help as their sole means of mechandise, because it’s on record the former President and his cohorts are specialized in enriching themselves from criminal act of this nature, that’s why he can kidnapped himself just to make money.
