According to reports, they were shot dead on Sunday in the Kankomi area of the state.

Gudau and his men died as a result of the military assault in Kankomi forest, said Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs Samuel Aruwan in a statement yesterday.

“Diligent exploitation of human intelligence networks confirmed that Gudau was indeed one of those felled by the brave troops as they repelled an attack led by the notorious bandit himself, ending his ignoble reign of brutality and evil,” Aruwan said.

“The remains of the notorious bandit, who is said to have connections with other notorious kingpins throughout the Northwest and Northcentral states, were discovered in the Kankomi Forest, where he bled to death,” according to the article.

“Rigimamme, one of Gudau’s trusted aides, has been identified as another of the neutralized bandits whose remains the troops discovered.”

“Gudau was a key figure in the joint kidnappings of students and expatriates in the councils of Kajuru, Chikun, and Kachia, as well as the murders of kidnapped citizens and victims who resisted kidnapping.”

“Gudau was also involved in coordinated attacks on herder settlements, dispossessing them of livestock, making him the illegal owner of large herds of cattle.” He traded these for millions of naira on a regular basis. He also dealt in illegal drugs, high-tech weapons, and ammunition.
