Man, Aminu Abubakar Arrested For Beating His Wife To Death For Seeking To Marry Another Man
The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 56years old man, for allegedly beating his 38-year-old acclaimed ‘wife’ to death. The suspect, Aminu Abubakar, a resident of Lelewaji, Shagari phase 2, in Yola South Local Government Area, for allegedly beating his wife, Nana Fadimatu, following a little disagreement that ensued between them when he heard that the deceased is going to marry a new Husband the next day
Angered by that information, the suspect furiously engaged her on May 5 at about 10pm, and applied force on her by hitting her with a hard object as a result of which she fell down unconscious and was later pronounced d€ad.
The suspect was apprehended by the Police in Shagari Divisional Police Headquarters following report received from the awaiting Husband Mahmud Rufai of Shagari Annex, Yola South Local Government Area.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said the investigation so far reveals that the suspect who is a Manager of Anasam table Water at Jambutu 50 Housing had one (1) child with the deceased after 9 years of their marriage.
He mentioned that the state Commissioner of Police CP Afolabi Babatola while expressing shock, commended DPO Shagari for arresting and making it impossible for the Suspect to escape Justice.
