Since 2015, the Federal Government claims to have made significant progress in the three major pillars of the current administration.

Security, the economy, and anti-corruption were among the major pillars.

President Muhammadu Buhari stated this on Thursday night at the Ebonyi Maiden Honours Awards at the state Ecumenical Centre in Abakaliki.

Buhari, through his Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, praised Ebonyi Governor David Umahi for his shining principles and for the state’s development.

“I commend Umahi on his support to the federal government policies on diversification of the economy through agriculture and ensuring food security.

“Today, Ebonyi state is one of the country’s top rice producers. “This is a shining example of what is possible under the leadership of a visionary and determined leader,” the president said.

He also praised Umahi for mobilizing Ebonyi’s meager resources for megaprojects.

“Umahi is doing well for his people and for Nigeria as a whole. The award is more than just a groundnut shared by the children.

“Awards are given to those who have made significant contributions to the state of the nation. We are overjoyed today because we have been honored.
