Alhaji Haruna Abdullahi, Ajiyan Gombe and Senior District Head of Kwami, has died.
Track News has learned that Alhaji Abdullahi died on Monday at the age of 94, following a long illness.
Late Baba Ajiya was the elder brother of Ibrahim Yerima Abdullahi (Sarkin Ban Gombe), former Minister of Education, Science, and Technology and Nigerian Ambassador to Malaysia.
In accordance with Islamic rites, he was buried at his palace in Malam Sidi, the headquarters of Kwami Local Government Area (LGA).
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State responded to the traditional ruler’s death by saying it was a huge loss for the state and Nigeria.
“Throughout his 53-year reign as a district head, late Ajiya was known for preaching peace and championing the path of unity and harmony, not only within his domain but throughout the state,” Governor Yahaya said.
