Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma stated on Tuesday that he does not want to debate Labour Party Presidential Candidate Peter Obi and that his priority is to market All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the South East ahead of the 2023 general election.

This was stated by Uzodinma during an interview with Channels TV’s Politics Today.

He claimed that the APC has a large number of devoted supporters in the South East who are obedient to the party.

“I am a politician, and the APC is my party, and I have a candidate there,” Uzodinma explained. And I know we’re talking to and consulting with our constituents about whether or not to vote for our candidate.

“I’m too preoccupied with campaigning for my party.” I don’t want to argue with Peter Obi, who isn’t a member of my party. I am aware, however, that APC members are devoted to the party.”

“I am very confident that the reasonable minds of Imo State will vote for my party,” the governor added. 99 percent of our major roads were impassable when I took office as governor in 2021. Today, Imo State’s major economic roads are so well managed that even members of the opposition party applaud my efforts.

“From 1999 to the present, Imo House of Assembly members have had no place to sit in the state.” They were assigned to a single local government secretariat in Owerri. The Imo House of Assembly building, which had been dormant for a long time, was recently renovated.”
