Oshiomhole: Tinubu is more qualified than Peter Obi, Atiku Abubakar
Adams Oshiomhole, Deputy Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council and former National Chairman of the party, believes Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the best qualified to win the 2023 presidential election.
According to Track News, Tinubu will run against Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party in next year’s election to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari (LP).
Speaking at the launch of the APC’s Edo South Senatorial District campaign in Benin, where the senatorial candidate, four House of Representatives candidates, and members of the state House of Assembly were unveiled, the former governor of the state urged all Nigerians to vote massively for Tinubu and other APC candidates in the 2023 general elections.
Two former Edo Deputy Governors, Dr. Pius Odubu and Lucky Imasuen, who is the Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council in the state, as well as APC governorship candidate in the 2020 election in Edo, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, and the state’s Chairman of the party, Col. David Imuse, attended the APC campaign rally (rtd).
Others who attended the rally included a former Minority Whip of the House of Representatives, Samson Osagie; an ex-Speaker of the Edo House of Assembly, Uyi Igbe; a former member of the House of Representatives, Patrick Obahiagbon; Edo Secretary of the APC, Lawrence Okah; members of the party’s State Working Committee (SWC); and other leaders from the seven local government areas that comprise Edo South Senatorial District.
Speaking at the campaign, the Edo State APC Chairman called Governor Godwin Obaseki and his administration “pretenders.”
He urged Edo people to vote massively for APC because Obaseki’s leadership style continues to deny the state’s masses access to basic amenities.
“The people governing Edo State today are pretenders,” Imuse said. They have arrived to devastate Edo State. Only in Edo State will a library be demolished and replaced with a supermarket. It is only in Edo State that they will convert a children’s ward in a hospital into another supermarket.
“Our markets are getting burnt. Last year Ekiosa market, Benin City got burnt, and today, a part of the market has been converted into Jara supermarket. They want to drive away our market women from their markets.
“We wanted to put campaign materials on billboards, but they refused, but we have carefully chosen our candidates.” They will be led by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and we will win the presidential election as well as all elected seats in the state, from the Senate to the House of Assembly.”
