Bayer Leverkusen Complete Signing Of Victor Boniface
German Bundesliga club, Bayer Leverkusen have completed the signing of Nigerian forward, Victor Boniface.
Victor Boniface signed a five-year deal with the German Bundesliga club after completing his medical on Saturday.
The talented 22-year-old attacker and Leverkusen reportedly reached a personal agreement last week, indicating his steadfast desire to play in the German Bundesliga.
Bayer Leverkusen is expected to pay Belgian club Royale Union Saint-Gilloise a transfer fee which could be worth €20 million if add-ons are included.
Boniface made his name in European football with his exceptional on-field performances, particularly following his great performance against Xabi Alonso’s Leverkusen in the UEFA Europa League last season.
In the said season, the striker scored six goals in the competition and took home the coveted Europa Goal of the Season honor, only a year after joining Union St. Gilloise from Bodo/Glimt
After a Europa League game involving Union St Gilloise and Leverkusen last season, coach Alonso hailed Boniface’s skills and referred to him as a wonderful player and a serious threat to the defenses of his opponents.
Since then, Leverkusen have been pushing for the signature of Victor Boniface and everything came into place for the transfer to be completed earlier this month.
Boniface’s decision to join Bayer Leverkusen will surely signal a turning point in his career as he enters the illustrious German Bundesliga and prepares to further establish himself in European football.
