Rio Ferdinand has said that he wants to see the Jadon Sancho that mesmerised defences in Germany before joining Manchester United a couple of years ago.
Ferdinand, a former Manchester United defender, said he is becoming ‘concerned’ by the England international’s inability to replicate his Bundesliga form for the Red Devils
Sancho was dropped from the England squad for the last international break, and just last weekend, he played no part in Erik ten Hag’s team that defeated Everton 2-1 in the Premier League.
But before Sunday’s game, the England international had started each of Manchester United’s previous seven Premier League matches.
Ferdinand is concerned that the former Borussia Dortmund winger, who joined United for £72million, has not lived up to the billing.
Speaking on his Vibe with FIVE YouTube show, Ferdinand said: “I haven’t seen [his Bundesliga form] yet. That’s the concerning thing for me.
‘If I’m Jadon Sancho, or in Jadon Sancho’s camp, I am looking at ways in which I can unpick his game, his mind, to unearth the Sancho that made him a coveted talent around Europe.
“His numbers in Germany were great, he was doing marvellous things over there, but it hasn’t transferred over to the Premier League yet
