Former England boss, Glenn Hoddle has picked his favourite player to win the Golden Boot in the World Cup in Qatar.

The 2022 World Cup will kick off on Sunday, with the host nation Qatar trading tackles with the South American side, Ecuador.

England in Group B will play Iran on Monday before facing neighbours Wales and then the USA.

Hoddle believes that Tottenham striker, Harry Kane will clinch the individual gong if the Three Lions progress deep into the tournament.

“You know what, I’m going to be really positive here and I think if England go really deep into the tournament I’m going for Kane,” he told news men.

He explained that while the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar will be hoping to score from set pieces, Kane will score from set plays.

The former Tottenham man noted that Kane would not lack supplies with the likes of James Maddison, Mason Mount, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, and Trent Alexander Arnold on the pitch.

“He’s going to get a lot of service if we play it right,” he said.

Harry Kane has scored 12 goals in 16 games in the Premier League so far this season. This makes him the number two scorer in the Premier League so far behind Manchester City’s Erling Haaland
